How can the customer benefits of complex, digital Industry 4.0 solutions be experienced interactively for visitors to a trade fair or showroom? How do you visualize their intelligence in the real setting of mostly large industrial and infrastructure facilities on a limited area?
ABB transferred this task to ABB Ability™, the platform for all digital products and services, to VOSS + FISCHER and raumHOCH. The solution is a combination of augmented and virtual reality applications. Using an innovative AR application, implemented by a specially developed localization system, consultants and trade fair visitors were able to move freely across the stand with a tablet, in which a total of 12 expansive industrial applications were to be discovered on a 1: 1 scale: out of nowhere an E Bus to the booth and headed for a fast charging station, a 30 meter conveyor belt transported packages over the exhibition area, etc. Last but not least, a battery of industrial robots performed their work on the main visitor route. Animated line graphics illustrated the interaction between the hardware and software components involved.
Along the "Ability Lane", the aisle of the trade fair stand, visitors were able to gain an interactive 180° view of all their business units' Ability solutions via "Virtual Windows".
