Free space for new ideas

The CODE_n12 project was initiated at CeBIT 2012 under the motto SHAPING MOBILE LIFE. Innovative start-ups and new ideas for digital concepts of the future were recruited via a competition. 50 young companies were selected, each of which was provided with an area of approx. 15 m² and a presentation table free of charge.

Each winner was thus given the chance to present themselves and their ideas at CeBIT as part of the CODE_n trade fair presentation initiated by GFT Technologies AG. The 3,500 m² room installation in Hall 16 of the Deutsche Messe was created by the artist Tobias Rehberger together with the architect Jürgen Mayer H..

All silver and a bit of neon

The designed environment was clearly different from usual trade fair presentations: All walls, furniture and the floor were painted silver, which was completed by a team of the artist Tobias Rehberger directly on site with fluorescent lines to form a large overall installation. The rigging installed over the entire presentation area acted as a 3-dimensional spatial sculpture that took over the technical infrastructure, the lighting in the form of technical clusters and the supply of the individual presentation places with supply mushrooms.
